If you love Virtual Reality and video games, then you will love THE VOID’s “Avengers Damage Control.” Last Sunday, my husband and I donned on the VR packs and suits with some friends and jumped from THE VOID’s storefront at Third Street Promenade into a Marvel Dimension. There, we “tested out” the prototype “Black Panther-type” suits as instructed by Shuri on an instructional video before we stepped foot into a world where we could shoot lasers out of our hands, destroy enemies, and saved the world alongside Doctor Strange, Wasp, Ant-Man, and The Incredible Hulk. You know, basic “superhero” stuff.
I really enjoyed the “team effort” of destroying our enemy. Our party of 4 had a great time. Four is the number of people per experience, so I would definitely say to make sure you have the correct number, otherwise your group will be split up.
Make sure you really try hard to shoot the enemies, because they are keeping score! I placed last, but I had a blast!
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, right?
Here’s what my fellow experiencers had to say:
I have tried other virtual reality experiences, but this was by far the most engaging. Not only do you get immersed in the environment, but it was such a blast to “fight” alongside some of my favorite superheroes as well as the party I came with. This is the future, and I can’t wait to see the possibilities as the technology improves.

The Void’s Avenger’s VR was nothing less than thrilling. It’s such a fun experience to do with friends, you really can feed off the excitement from each other. Everyone gets to be a part of the movie, becoming the superhero you always wanted to be. The pack you wear gives a mild vibration every time you get hit, which gives a sense of realism. The trickiest part was the learning curve on how to shoot and shield. After seeing your score at the end, it makes you want to go back and best your last score.

I went to the void expecting basically to get motion sickness. What I got instead was immersed into my favorite cinematic Super hero series, The Avengers! Bottom line, it was awesome! The fun of a video game, the escape of the movies and the good times had with the teamwork of friends! Go do it! Remember your score. Then go back and beat it!
