Doggie Street Festival

My daughter loves dogs. When she was 9 months old, she met Coco, my family’s dog, when we visited in December. Coco is a shih tzu, is very calm, and hardly barks. Now, whenever she sees a dog (or any animal, really), she points and says, “Coco!”

When I saw that Westfield Century City was hosting Doggie Street Festival today, I knew we had to go. As much as I would love to have a dog, I know I don’t have the time or energy to take care of one. I applaud anyone who can take care of one and support animal rescues. Visiting animal shelters and going to events such as this one, is a way I can indulge her (and my) doggie fix!

Here are some photos from the event today:

We bought a pound of coffee from here because we believe in their cause. Their motto is “Every Pound Saves a Hound.” We spoke to Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co. owner Jordan, who started this company to bring two of his passions together, coffee and dogs! read more at http://groundsandhoundscoffee.com/

We met Kai, a dalmatian, who is part of the PUP (Pets Unstressing Passengers) program at LAX. They currently have 35 volunteer dogs who visit the terminals to relieve passengers of the stress of flying and being at an airport. What a great program! For more info on how to participate, click here.
