Find the glowing figures at FIGat7th!
From now until November 10th, four giant, illuminated figures perch, rest, and observe DTLA at FIGat7th. This art installation is the work of Australian artist Amanda Parer, winner and nominee of several notable competitions.
This light installation was inspired by the 1973 Czech/French film Fantastic Planet (La Planéte Sauvage). It is a stop motion science fiction film set in a world with gargantuan humanoids, where human beings are a feral race.
This idea will bring about several thoughts in the minds of spectators, all open to interpretation. This personally evokes the feeling of being watched by “Big Brother” or the idea of friendly extraterrestrial beings visiting planet earth.
Definitely check out this installation. Stay tuned to my Instagram feed for our visit in a few days!
