There’s something about receiving flowers in the mail that makes them feel a little more special. Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving them in person, too, but flower delivery is like getting a card in the mail on your birthday…but better.
I was contacted a few weeks ago by this new and local (Venice, California) floral delivery company, The Bouqs Co., asking if I wanted to receive one of their bouquets and become an Ambassador. I’ve ordered flowers in the past from the usual suspects, only to be underwhelmed by the selection, and baffled by the price after all the “add-ons.” Ordering from The Bouqs is easy, painless, and straightforward. The interface of their website is clean, and not overwhelmed with distractions. The price you see is the price you pay. There is no additional charge for shipping, and the flowers look fresh because they are. My flowers were grown on an active volcano in South America, and were cut upon order. It doesn’t get more sustainable than that.
My order arrived today, and I was already pleased with the packaging. Because I’m a graphic designer, I pay particular attention to fine details such as these. Inside the box are instructions on how much water to use, how to trim the flowers, and how often to water them. The instructions may be second nature to most people, but because I do not have a green thumb, I am thankful for the reminder.
The flowers arrived partially bloomed, which is great because they are ready for display. I put them on this table we have in the living room, with has our family photos. They really brighten up the room and make me smile. There is a concierge service where you can schedule deliveries so you don’t forget. Between birthdays, mother’s day, and other holidays, it’s a good way to budget for the upcoming year without scrambling to find “a discount code” at last minute.
A good friend of mine (who is also a mom) and I started sending flowers to one of our non-mom friends for random holidays. Said non-mom friend is one of our good friends and is so generous to our respective children, sending them gifts for Easter, Christmas, and birthdays. By sending her flowers, we just want her to know she is appreciated and loved too.
Check out The Bouqs. You’ll be glad you did!
Westside Mommy is part of The Bouqs Ambassador program. Thank you for reading my review and checking out this local, sustainable, business I believe in.
