I grew up in the 80s, so I was excited when heard about the revamp of Popples. The fun-loving mythical creature that transforms from a ball shape, to something with arms and legs is a piece of my childhood I am happy to introduce to my own kid.
Last week, we attended a media party for Popples season 2 on Netflix. Celebrity guest hosts were: Soleil Moon Frye, Molly Sims, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and singer Megan Nicole. Also hosting the event was Baby2Baby, a non-profit which provides low-income families with diapers, clothing, and other basic necessities for their children.
My daughter didn’t know what to make of these creatures at first (a costumed Popples character named “Bubbles” was there to pose for photos), but eventually decided she liked them. There were plenty of kid-friendly Popple-themed activities at the event such as: ball toss, face painting, coloring, and cake pop decorating. We had fun decorating (and eating) a cake pop! The event was held at Lombardi House in Hollywood.
Here are some photos and a video from the event:

About Popples
Popples, A Netflix original series for kids, is a high-energy comedy series about an amazing species of creatures that can pop into and out of a ball. Based on the popular 1980’s toy line and television series, Saban Brands has re-imagined the loveable Popples characters for a whole new generation of kids. The show is driven by the optimistic comedic enthusiasm of the BPP’s (Best Popple Pals), Bubbles, Sunny, Lulu, Izzy and Yikes. Always wanting to help their friends, neighbors and each other, the Popples’ efforts often backfire in hilarious ways and they must spend the rest of day trying to unwind the mayhem they have caused. Luckily they always manage to save the day in their own POP-tastic way!
