Last Saturday, we experienced “Santa’s Speedway” drive-thru light display at the Irwindale Speedway. It was about a 45 minute drive from West L.A. and definitely worth it!
World’s Largest Free Standing Light Tree
At the center of it all is the “World’s largest free standing light tree.” It is a sight to see from all angles, with various displays to view as you circle the track. Mobile Illumination, the company responsible for the Grove, Universal Studios and Warner Brothers’ Christmas Extravaganzas pulled out all the stops to give their attendees a light show to remember.
The Best Tunnels
It’s all about the lighted tunnels, and Santa’s Speedway has several! They were all extremely colorful, animated, and long!
Reindeer in the form of cars
The very last part of the drive-thru is the reindeer, in the form of cars decorated in lights, and tires painted and decorated as snowmen. It was a cute spin on the theme of the speedway. Mrs. Claus greeted us before we left the stable, and Santa said hello and goodbye to us as we exited.
A fun evening, but make sure you get there early (like we did) because the line to get in was insane when we left!
