Sunday, May 31st – Club MomMe’s Stroll N’ Run 5K
Last Sunday, I ran (ok, jogged) the Club MomMe Stroll N’ Run 5K. I’d been to the South Coast Botanic Garden once before, for a Club MomMe’s Fall Family Fest. This time, it was a fun run through the gardens. I think I was the only person (or at least one of the few) who did not bring my kid. I invited my husband to join, but it was way too early for him to wake up on a Sunday, so he had toddler duty!
The course
Here is a link to a map of The South Coast Botanic Garden. The course was three laps around on Tram Road. It was a fun run, so it was not timed. I tracked my own time using my cellphone. There were some hills, and I’d like to blame them for my slow time of 37 minutes (my personal goal was to run it in less than 30 minutes). I wish I was faster, because the person who finished first won a BOB stroller! There were families and groups of all sizes. It was admirable to see everyone with their jogging strollers and push-trikes. I was impressed by the dad who pushed a triple stroller. Talk about a workout!

The After Party, Vendors, and Sponsors
At the end of each lap, I was offered a bottle of Essentia Water. Talk about fancy! A bottle of super-purified drinking water sure beats the sad Dixie cups of water offered at other runs. Club MomMe events always have great vendors.
BOB was the title sponsor for the event. People who registered for the event had the option to choose a stroller at a discount. In addition, Club MomMe gave away a few BOB strollers at the event. There was even a mini course to test out the different BOB stroller.
Little Tikes was an activity sponsor and provided some awesome igloo play structures called “Tunnel and Dome Climber” for the kids. I really want to get one for my daughter because she loves to climb.
Microkickboard was also an activity sponsor. My friend’s kid brought his Micro Mini scooter to the park a few weeks ago. My daughter tried it out really liked it. Although my daughter wasn’t with me at the event, I was able to see other options available. I’m a kid at heart (and not much taller than one), and scooted around in the Micro Sprite! I really enjoyed it, and might have to put one on my wish list! My daughter and I can scoot together!

One of the best things about attending Club MomMe events is sampling and learning about new products. I already use Babyganics products for my daughter (we like the bubble bath and the lotion), but I got a sample of Babyganics sunscreen to try out!
I’m glad I tried out a bottle healthy Suja juice, because apparently they ran out of their stock pretty early. I felt good about drinking their healthiest drink which was full of green veggies!
Out of all the cold coffee flavors from High Brew Coffee, Mexican Vanilla was my favorite. It was difficult to decide, because they were all really tasty, but Salted Caramel was a close second.
I picked up some juices for my daughter to try – Honest Kids juice and Cuties tangerine juice (I had no idea they made juice!)
I pretty much had lunch there by snacking on goodies from KIND and Nature’s Bakery, and ate pizza from Fresh Brothers. What’s lunch without dessert? Yummy fruit pops from Chloe’s soft serve fruit.
I also learned about a lot of cool services and even got a massage from Zeel in-home massage.
